ATEX Cartridge elements have been specially developed to generate high power concentrated in a location of your choice. These are compact plug-in elements that can still deliver a reasonable amount of power in compact spaces. The elements are then used to keep the product being heated in a liquid state. No other element design can generate comparable heat.

Applications

Explosion-proof cartridge elements from Heating Group International are used in a wide range of industries. These include foundries and the plastics processing industry, where molds need to be brought up to temperature quickly. Explosion-proof cartridge elements can also be used for the following applications:

– Pumps

– Oil compressors

– Oil sumps

Technical description

Cartridge elements have a resistance wire wound on a ceramic core, which consists of a high-quality alloy.
For optimal heat transfer to the outer casing, powdered magnesium oxide is applied, which is an excellent insulator even at high temperatures.

The elements are manufactured using PTC technology, which means that they limit their own power and thus also the element temperature. Partly due to this application, they are suitable for use in an ATEX environment.

Assembly

To ensure a long service life and optimal heat transfer, the heating cartridges are precisely ground to an H7 fit. When using cartridge elements, the user or manufacturer must take into account that the hole must also have this fit.

The ATEX cartridge elements are a smaller series of immersion heaters that offer an ideal solution when space is limited. They are all designed with specific fittings for direct immersion and are fully certified for use in hazardous environments where the atmosphere is classified as a Zone 1 or 2 (IIA, IIB, IIC) gas group, or a Zone 21 or 22 (IIIA, IIIB, IIIC) dust group.
