Mineral insulated heating cable

Cables and units with mineral insulation
and sensors, consist of a metallic
conductor or conductors
embedded in an inorganic insulating material
of compressed ceramic, usually
magnesium oxide powder within a
metal casing.

Applications

The inorganic nature of the construction allows the cables to be used for long periods at high temperatures or in extremely harsh environments such as petrochemical, reactor vessels, automotive and other applications where cable integrity
is most important.

The operating temperature of cables with mineral insulation ranges over a wide temperature range from cryogenic to 1300°C, depending on materials used in the cable or sensor and sensor methods.

The benefits of mineral heating cables

1

Suitable for high temperatures

2

Long circuit lengths

3

High power output at higher temperatures.

4

Suitable for an ATEX environment
