Silicone heating cables are mainly used for frost protection of door frames of cold rooms, heating of smaller pipes including measuring and sample lines or tank heating.
Technical adviceSilicone cable is well suited for applications with low or high ambient temperatures.
The maximum surface temperature of silicone cables is +180°C, at a minimum ambient temperature of -70°C.
The allowable power is up to 40W/m depending on conditions.
If the SIKA cable is used for pipe tracing, we recommend insulating the pipe. This is to prevent heat loss.
During installation, the full length of the silicone cable will need to be secured using aluminum tape. This ensures good contact with the pipe and prevents direct contact between the cable and insulation.
The cable should not be laid on top of each other, this could cause the cable to overheat. The minimum bending radius of silicone cables is 15 mm. Furthermore, the cable must not come into contact with oil, animal fat, fatty acid and water.
Longer circuit lengths compared to other heating cables
High power output at higher temperatures.
