CT thermostat

The CT thermostat supports temperature control of heating circuits in safe or hazardous environments.

Technical advice

CT thermostat

A CT thermostat is temperature adjustable ON-OFF thermostat that consists of a liquid-filled sensing bulb connected via a capillary to an electrical switch.

Expansion of the liquid as the temperature rises causes the switch to open and it closes as it cools.

Key features

  • Three temperature ranges with wide range
  • Stainless steel sensor and capillary tube
  • Optional over-temperature lockout
  • Approved for use in Zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas (CT-FL version)
  • Housings suitable for gas groups llA, llB & llC
  • Optional stainless steel armored capillary

Applications

Capstats can control surface temperatures, such as pipes or vessels, or the sensor lamp can be positioned to measure air temperature.

They can be used to control process temperatures in safe or Zone 1 or 2 hazardous environments by switching the heat circuits to the desired temperature, and are available for Group llA, llB or llC gases.
